Sargent Tournament of Heroes

What started out in memory of a devoted father and patriot has now become a city wide annual event for Sargent, Texas celebrating heroes in service to our country.

Serve Outdoors Matagorda Bay is proud to partner each year with a dedicated team of volunteers in Sargent, Texas, to host a memorable weekend honoring our nation's heroes. Participants arrive on Friday and are paired with local host families for the weekend. Meals are provided for participants on Friday.

On Saturday, host families take their assigned soldiers onto the waters of Matagorda Bay for a one-of-a-kind fishing tournament experience. Saturday afternoon includes the entire Sargent community, featuring a weigh-in for red drum, flounder, and speckled trout, followed by an evening celebration that includes dinner, raffles, live and silent auctions, and a patriotic program recognizing the service and sacrifice of our military participants.

This special event brings together the community, volunteers, and veterans for a weekend of fellowship, gratitude, and unforgettable memories on the Texas coast.
